Gionee M5 Price in Nigeria, In-depth Review and Specification [2019]

Gionee M5 is a type of phone that would easily pull through a day of heavy use without running out of battery juice.

The phone is without a doubt the best Gionee phone with the biggest battery capacity yet.

Those words holds true and thanks to the staggering 6020mAh, the M5 is what I would like to call the “Battery Beast”

Ok, so the M5 is has a big 5.5 – inch screen, Sleek aesthetics, 32 GB internal storage and to top it all off “a gigantic battery

The phone comes in three variants of which there’s the Gionee M5 mini and the Gionee Marathon M5 Plus. As I’ve said in my previous review, the M5 plus is best smartphone amongst the series.

Below I’ve made a list of cons and pros of the phone, check out the selling point and flaws of the device.

Note: The verdict is my opinionated view, so it may not sit right with some customers.

PROS: The Good

Great Battery: The 6020mAh battery is perhaps the best thing about the smartphone. You’ll be surprised how long the battery lasts on a single charge.

Massive RAM: Coming with a 3GB RAM, get ready to enjoy multi-tasking and run heavy apps smoothly.

Good Front Camera: Both 13MP rear camera takes scenic pictures, a feature most users will like.

Excellent Design: undoubtedly, the M5 is a big. Despite its size the phone is designed with premium materials making it easy for users to comfortably hold the phone even when using a single hand.

Fast Charging: The phone utilize the fast charge technology which reduces the charging time of your device.

CONS: The Bad

Front Camera: The front camera features a great 5MP camera. However, it doesn’t have a LED flash which means that pictures you take indoors will have better clarity than outdoors.

Average Processor: for a phone that packs some of the best features you can only find on premium devices. Fans had expected a faster processor than the Quad-core processor.

Size: it’s obvious a phone that’s about 5.5 – inches you’d expect it to be quite heavy. The M5 weighs about 214g.

Features, Design and Display

Up on its sleeve, the smartphone rocks a 5.5 inch screen. Indeed, the phone is big as it features a large 72.2%  screen to body ratio. Talking about screen resolution, an AMOLED HD Screen of 720 pixels & thin bezels is utilized to give you an excellent viewing experience from any angle.

Overall, the device feels a little heavy. Despite the size, it a slim design which helps the phone fit into the hands with little or no trouble.

What makes the design of Gionee M5 great is this:

The memory card slot, power button and volume rockers are all placed by the right side of the phone while Sim slot is positioned on the left side. This means that the back panel is sealed and you can’t get access to in-built battery.

Right under the phone is the charging point while the IR Blaster and audio jack are on top.

Finally, the design of the phone is one of the coolest things about the phone. Buy it and be the judge on that.

The rear camera sports a 13 MP camera. To be sincere, the rear camera shoots average photos, nothing out of the ordinary.

The front camera packs a 5 MP that doesn’t have a LED Flash. As a result you get to take beautiful photos outdoors, however, it can a little bit hard when the lighting condition indoors is bad.

Performance & Software

So far, the processor of the Gionee Marathon M5 is not as fast as you’d expect. And that’s because it uses a quad-core processor that’s rather slow for a phone that cramps in premium features.

If you are buying the device in 2017, you will be let down by the OS cause it features the pre-dated Android v5.1 (lollipop).  To make you feel better, the OS can be upgradable to the Android v.6 (marshmallow).

So long you are a heavy internet user or a game freak, you will appreciate the 6020 mAh battery.

In addition, the power saving mode allows you to get the most out of the battery storage. with that said, the battery implore the use of fast charging technology to get your device juiced up quickly at anytime of the day.
