LG G5 Full Specifications, Review And Price

LG G5 – Here’s LG’s First Modular Smartphone.

LG G5 is a classic high-end smartphone from Korean technology giant – LG, with the full name Life’ Good. Coming out as the next generation to the LG G4, this modular smartphone is really the bomb!

Every nice thing found on the predecessor got improved in this device. Well, that’s what upgrades are made of. One unique thing on this device that’s a first on the G-series smartphones is the presence of Magic Slot. What the Magic Slot does is to allow users have the access to attach add-ons to the device.

The add-on could be an LG Cam Plus camera grip containing extra battery of 1.2 Ah and hardware camera controls or the add-on could be LG Hi-fi plus with Bang & Olufsen to boost the audio quality. However, the smartphone switches off when the Magic Slot gets ejected.

Actually, that’s just a tip of the iceberg, let’s get to know more about the details of this phone.

Design & Display

Starting off with the smartphone’s rear, the dual camera setup and fingerprint sensor makes the device so different from the previous generation. As LG will have it, the fingerprint sensor also functions as the power button. At the bottom region of the device’s back, the G5 is seen, leaving no doubt about the model of the phone.

Being a premium phone, aluminium alloy gets to be implemented as the body material. Even at that, the slimness of the device is non-negotiable given the 7.7 mm thickness. As part of the design, the Magic Slot is located at the base of the smartphone.

To eject it, an ejector is positioned on the left side of the smartphone alongside the volume rocker. Just to shed more light about the Magic Slot, it allows the user access to see the interiors of the device. That’s one of the things you get from a modular smartphone.

With the 1440 x 2560 pixels, display of media is so crisp on the 5.3 inches IPS screen. For the sole purpose of protecting the screen, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 is available on the phone.

There’s also the availability of Always-on display feature that allows the showcase of time, date, battery status and other handy stuff while the screen display is off.

Performance X Software

At the centre of operations on LG G5, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 serves as the chipset. A Quad-core Kryo processor that clocks at 2.15 GHz is enclosed in this chipset. For graphics output, Qualcomm Adreno 530 GPU is on board. Unlike the 3 GB RAM found in the G4, LG G5 has 4 GB RAM to ease multitasking.

Android Marshmallow OS handles the software operations on the phone. Additionally, the LG Optimus UX 5.0 UI cushions the phone’s outlay. Substantial amount of files can be stored on the phone due to the 32 GB internal memory present.
